Year 1 has been learning about how to save the endangered sea turtle and have come to the conclusion that humans are its' greatest threat. Sea pollution such as plastic bags and oil are suffocating and slowly killing sea turtles as they often mistake these for jellyfish, their primary food source. We can help the sea turtles and all other creatures in the oceans by reducing our plastic use and not using plastic drinking straws. We made reusable canvas bags and went to the local 7-11 to tell the employees and patrons why we need to stop using plastic.
We had a great time!
Thank you for helping us save the turtles by reducing your plastic bag and straw usage!

Reading Week

What a successful reading week! We learned a lot about our featured author, Roald Dahl, enjoyed D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read!) every morning, swapped books with our friends, and listened to different teachers and guests read 'The Twits' to us every day at lunch.
Books can take you anywhere!
