This week in maths we are learning about new ways to use the Numicon to help us with our number understanding.  To skip count, we understand that we can 'build' numbers with the Numicon.  We are also learning that numbers can be rearranged to add up to a new number.  Here, Miyu and Justin are showing how to build numbers to 10 using a variety of Numicon shapes.  This is an important skill that develops an understanding of addition and multiplication at a later date.

 We use our SmartBoard nearly every day!  It is such a fun way to help us with our reading skills.
